Information We Collect
Repurposito is a Chrome extension that helps you repurpose web content into social posts. We collect minimal data necessary to provide the service.
Account information
When you create an account, we store your email address and a hashed password. If you upgrade to a paid plan, we store billing information processed securely through our payment provider (Stripe). We never see or store your full card details.
Content you process
When you use Repurposito to transform a webpage, transcript, or thread, the source content and generated drafts are sent to our servers for processing. Drafts are saved to your account so you can access them later. Source URLs are stored with each transformation for your reference.
Usage data
We collect anonymous analytics about how you use the extension — number of transformations, recipes used, and feature engagement. This helps us improve the product. We do not track your browsing history outside of content you explicitly bookmark for transformation.
Chrome extension permissions
The extension requests permissions to read page content on tabs where you activate it. It only reads content when you click the Repurposito button — it does not monitor your browsing in the background. No page content is accessed without your explicit action.
How We Use Your Information
We use your data to provide and improve the Repurposito service.
Service delivery
Your account information authenticates you. Your processed content and drafts are stored so you can access them. Usage data helps us understand which features are valuable and where to focus development.
Communication
We may email you about important account changes, security notices, or major product updates. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time from your account settings. Transactional emails (billing, security) cannot be opted out.
Product improvement
Aggregated, anonymized usage data may be used to improve our recipes, processing accuracy, and user experience. We never sell your data or use your content to train AI models for other users.
Data Sharing & Third Parties
We share data only with service providers who help us operate Repurposito, and only as necessary.
AI processing providers
To generate your draft posts, we send source content to AI processing providers. These providers process your content to generate drafts and do not store it long-term or use it to train their models. Your content is sent securely over encrypted connections.
Payment processing
Billing is handled by Stripe. We receive your email and subscription status from Stripe, but your full payment details never touch our servers.
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. Individual user data is not shared with analytics providers in a way that identifies you personally.
Legal compliance
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, property, or safety. We will not share your content with third parties for advertising purposes.
Data Retention
We keep your data only as long as necessary to provide the service.
Account data
Your account information is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., billing records).
Transformations and drafts
Your saved drafts and transformation history are retained until you delete them or close your account. On the Free plan, drafts older than 90 days may be archived to free up storage. Pro and Team plans retain all drafts for the life of the account.
Analytics data
Anonymous analytics data is retained in aggregate form for up to 24 months, after which it is permanently deleted.
Your Rights
You have control over your data. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under GDPR, CCPA, or other privacy laws.
Access and export
You can view all your stored data from your account dashboard. You can export your transformation history and saved drafts as a JSON or CSV file at any time.
Deletion
You can delete individual drafts or your entire account from your settings. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible — all your data is removed within 30 days.
Opt-out
You can opt out of analytics tracking from your account settings. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email. You cannot opt out of transactional emails (billing, security).
Data portability
Under GDPR, you have the right to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format and transmit it to another service. Use the export feature in your account settings.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data.
Encryption
All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms — we never store plaintext passwords. Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our infrastructure.
Access controls
Access to production data is restricted to authorized team members on a need-to-know basis. All access is logged and monitored. We conduct regular security reviews of our codebase and infrastructure.
Breach notification
In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users within 72 hours of discovery, in accordance with GDPR requirements.
Children's Privacy
Repurposito is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email and post a notice on the website. The effective date below indicates when the policy was last revised.
